When we say that Bass Phillip's vineyards are located perfectly to produce delicious wine, we are not kidding, mountains to the North and ocean to the South, perfect conditions for long, slow ripening of grapes. FROM THE WINEMAKER

"This wine is a selection of the best barrels of the leongatha vineyard. All barrels are lightly toasted and extra tight grain oak. Barrels are checked and topped regularly. Wine stays in barrel for 14 months, then it is simply gravity decanted off lees via a spigot inserted at the bottom of the barrel to a blending tank. No fining of any sort, or filtration before bottling."
