A delivery from Rising makes any day feel like a reason to celebrate. Sat in the aptly named Christmas Hills in the Yarra Valley, their wine is small batch done right. Small parcels of delicious fruit, carefully chosen. We can’t help but admire the quiet way these guys go about each expression, it’s pure passion at play. For winemaker Anthony Fikkers, less is more when it comes to intervention. And after a hop, skip and jump across Italy, France, Germany and the Hunter Valley, 13 years later, he’s ready to share his passion for cool-climate goodness with anyone willing to slurp away.
FROM THE WINEMAKER
"This single vineyard Chardonnay comes from three blocks at the Rising vineyard; BIBS, Birdwood, and House. The grapes were all hand-picked and direct pressed, settled overnight and then transferred to hogsheads and puncheons for natural ferment. It was about 25% new oak, all French. It was aged w ithout S02 for a few months and most went through malolactic fermentation. The w ine was matured in oak on lees until November with no stirring or battonage and no added yeast, bacteria, enzyme or acid. It was filtered and bottled w ith some S02 added."FOOD MATCH
I am going to play this with a straight bat; mushroom risotto. Basic, but good. The wine is going to steal the show, not my cooking, so let's not waste time in the kitchen.RATING

At first i try their red pinot at hotel tapas bar, its showing very very good. Then i search from web and buy from here. Then i try their white at same hotel, they are using a burgundy glass to serve, it’s surprisingly good,i bought from here again.wine with harmony nose, subtle fruitiness and nice acidity. I am happy to find this wine estate, one of my favourite daily wine, highly recommend �

For this price point, the wine not too oak or ripe, but with good length and delicacy. Very good PnP wine with good quality.
